Announcements: August launch Cancelled
Friday, July 18 @ 21:22:10 MDT by WMusselman (733 reads)
Club Announcements

A reminder that we have a TRA Research Lauch this weekend, July 19th and 20th, up at the Pawnee North Site. You must be a Tripoli L2 or above to fly - commercial or Research motors, NO Black Powder motors - NO model rocket pads will be set up. We have call-in waivers to 35,000' AGL, so if you can fly that high and have gotten Tripoli approval, come on out!

Due to essentially the entire executive board being out of town or tied up with work or family issues, the August 2ne launch has been cancelled. We will launch next on September 6th, again at the North Site. Don't forget, Oktoberfest is coming and with it some amazing contests, raffle prizes and flights... Don't forget to pre-register!.

GO FOR MAYHEM
Saturday, April 26 @ 11:40:30 MDT by jhinton (621 reads)
Club Announcements

We have been given the green light from the US Forest Service for MileHighMayhem next weekend, May 2nd, 3rd and 4th on the Pawnee National Grassland at NCR’s North Site. Did you pre-register? On-site registration will be available Friday, May 2nd. Limited edition T-shirts have been printed, vendors have been contacted and thanks to several club volunteers, our equipment is ready for another memorable launch. Our waiver will be a constant 20,000’ AGL. Anticipated “windows of opportunity” for higher altitudes shots is still in the works but remains un-confirmed. We anticipate having the range set up and ready by 9 AM on Friday, if not earlier, and we’ll operate until 6 PM. On Saturday and Sunday, the range and waiver will be open at 8 AM. Wristbands will be required for ALL flyers and ALL flyers will need to be registered. On Saturday, we will close the waiver at 6 PM and on Sunday at 4PM. Sunday is a TRA Research Launch Day and flyers must be Tripoli members and certified L2 or higher to fly. The extended weather forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with characteristically light winds and comfortable temperatures for Spring on the prairie. In other words, it should be an awesome weekend for flying.

Announcements: NCR Equipment Clean-up Party!
Tuesday, September 18 @ 20:52:14 MDT by WMusselman (601 reads)
Club Announcements

This coming Saturday, September 22nd, will be one of the twice a year NCR launch equipment cleanup parties. This year it is at Ed Dawson's place in Longmont from 10AM until 2PM (or the job gets done.) We'll be cleaning launch rods and rails, cleaning the trailer, testing the launch controller, cleaning and repairing the igniter leads and clips, charging the batteries, refilling and pressurizing the fire extinguishers and basically giving everything the once over in preparation for Oktoberfest, which is just 2 short weeks away.

If you want to help, please email Ed Dawson, our volunteer coordinator at volunteer@ncrocketry.org"We need an RSVP to both ensure we have enough folks and to make sure too many folks don't show up. If you love to fly with NCR, please consider doing your part and step up to the plate. We still need volunteers for LCO and RSO slots on all 3 days, at least 6 pad managers for Saturday and someone to tow the trailer back to storage on Sunday afternoon. Please step up and do your part.

News Item: The Web Site needs YOU!!!!
Sunday, February 04 @ 14:06:01 MST by WMusselman (803 reads)
Club AnnouncementsThe webmaster is currently seeking pictures for the site header image at the upper right. A new web volunteer, Jeremiah Johnson, has added a little piece of code that randomizes the picture displayed in the upper right of every NCR website page, but we need pictures to display. Currently there are only eight - just enough for us to test that it works. IF you have a picture - horizontally formatted or cropped, that you'd like to see on the website header, send it to Webmaster@ncrocketry.org. The image size is based upon a 277 x 78 pixel image, but we're flexible and can handle anything from 100 x 60 up to 450 x 130 pixels. Just make sure that they're composed and cropped with an eye toward a horizontal display.

News Item: NCR ANNUAL MEETING
Friday, December 15 @ 18:55:41 MST by jhinton (811 reads)
Club Announcements

Members and Friends, Joyous Greetings, Praise and Thanksgiving to all! We hope each and every one of the Holidaze will be all you expect and better. We look forward to seeing you out on the range next year starting with NCR’s anticipated launch on Saturday, January 6th at the Atlas Site. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for some good flying conditions and the start of another great year. More importantly, start the New Year with NCR at our Annual Business Meeting and Swap Meet on Saturday, January 13th, 2007 at the VFW Hall #4334 in Ault, Colorado. Bring any old kits, parts or other rocketry related items that would be of interest to fellow club members and that you are interested in getting rid of. Swap, sell and buy each other’s goodies. Remember, one rocketeer’s junk is another’s treasure. Please plan to attend and help shape the future for NCR. This will be a critical meeting for information, discussions and decision making for the coming year.

News Item: Pre-Oktoberfest Equipment cleaning and Maintenance Party
Sunday, September 03 @ 13:44:45 MDT by WMusselman (808 reads)
Club AnnouncementsOktoberfest is COMING!

Hi folks, it's that time again. With Oktoberfest coming up fast we have a bunch of stuff to do.

First, there is an equipment cleaning party at Dale and Patty Netherton's in Windsor, CO on Saturday September 16th. Please RSVP to Dale at net.dale@gmail.com ASAP. We need about a dozen people. It's a great time, we get things fixed and cleaned up, drink some beer and eat some BBQ and catch up with each other, not to mention talk rockets.

Second, if you have an L3 project or expect to cert at any level, please contact Joe Hinton and let us know in advance. NO L3 certs will be allowed without prior notification. If you're certifying with Tripoli, Joe needs to be involved as he is the club prefect and your TAP's need to be present. If you're cert'ing NAR L3, be sure you have your witnesses and L3CC folks lined up. LCO/RSO will NOT allow you out to the pad without onsite approval from the Prefect and TAP or L3CC and witnesses.

Third, If you plan on flying hybrid motors at Oktoberfest, be sure to contact Dale Netherton and reserve your flights NOW. If you do not reserve your flight, you will NOT be allowed to fly until after all reserved flights have gone.

Fourth, we need you to pre-register for Oktoberfest. The form is available in the menu at the left. Please fill it out and mail it to Dale and Patty at the address on the form along with your check for the appropriate amount.

Finally, the NCR SSS and Super SSS contests are STILL open to prospective flyers as no one has flown a bird for either contest as yet. Entry fee is $20. Contact Warren Musselman or the webmaster@ncrocketry.org to sign up or get further details.

We look forward to seeing you there!

News Item: July 8th Launch Scrubbed due to Fireban
Wednesday, July 05 @ 13:33:51 MDT by WMusselman (788 reads)
Club AnnouncementsJuly 8th launch scrubbed due to Fire Ban

Members and Friends, there is a Stage 1 Fireban in place for Pawnee National Grasslands - where both our Pawnee North and Atlas launch sites are located. After considerable discussion with John Oppenlander of the USFS, it has been determined that we will not be able to host our regularly scheduled club launch on Saturday, July 8th.

Our apologies. Unfortunately, we expect this to also be the case when the August launch rolls around unless we get substantial monsoon moisture during the remainder of July.
